Products & Services module helps you manage everything you make, buy, sell, or consume in production.
๐ท๏ธ Product Types
When creating a new item, youโll select one of the following types:
๐ฆ Product โ Physical item (can be stocked)
โ๏ธ Component โ Raw or semi-finished material used in manufacturing
๐งพ Service โ Intangible offering (e.g., design fee, delivery)
Each type can have:
โ
Buy and/or sell status
๐ Stock management (enabled for products/components)
๐ธ Cost and selling price
๐ข Product codes, barcodes, and categories
๐ Usage Across Modules
Products and components are reused across many functions:
๐๏ธ In Bill of Materials (BOM) for defining product structure
๐ฅ In Purchase Orders for raw material procurement
๐ In Sales Orders for customer delivery
๐ฆ In Stock Management for tracking inventory levels
๐ฐ In Cost Calculation for production and profit analysis
๐ Stockable vs Non-stockable
๐ข Stockable items: have inventory tracking (quantity in/out, warehouses)
๐ด Non-stockable items: do not track stock (used for services, or virtual items)
Choose this carefully when defining a product โ it affects how stock and cost behave in the system.
๐ฏ Best Practices
Use clear product codes and names for consistency
Group items using categories for easier reporting
Activate lot/batch tracking if needed for traceability
Link vendors to components for purchase price history
